Plaintiff Jane Doe sued defendants MySpace Incorporated and News Corporation for negligence, gross negligence, fraud and negligent misrepresentation over the rape of plaintiff by a 19-year-old who had initiated contact with Jane Doe through MySpace, despite safeguards MySpace purportedly had in place.
