January 31, 2022 Filing 30 MINUTES (IN CHAMBERS) by Judge Mark C. Scarsi: ORDER RE: JOINT STIPULATION FOR PARTIAL DISMISSAL OF COMPLAINT #29 . Plaintiff Navigators Management Company, Inc., and Defendant TopOcean Consolidation Service (Los Angeles) Inc. stipulate to the dismissal of three of Navigators Management's claims against TopOcean. The parties seek to effect an amendment of the Complaint. In the interest of judicial economy, and in light of the Ninth Circuit policy of granting leave to amend with "extreme liberality," the Court waives Local Rules 15-1 and -2, grants the request to dismiss the claims, and deems the Complaint amended to omit the second, third, and fourth claims against TopOcean. Navigators Management and TopOcean also request that the Court extend TopOcean's deadline to respond to the Complaint by two additional weeks. The stipulation does not present any cause for a further extension. TopOcean already received two extensions of its response deadline. The parties previously represented that TopOcean would be prepared to respond to the Complaint by January 28. (Stip. to Further Extend Time 2, ECF No. 23.) (See footnote 1: 1 This "joint" stipulation was not joined by all parties who have appeared in the action.) This component of the stipulation is denied. On its own motion, the Court extends TopOcean's deadline to February 4. (lc)
