ORDER ON STIPULATION TO EXTEND DEADLINE by Judge Stanley Blumenfeld, Jr.: On 6/30/2023, Plaintiff filed a First Amended Complaint (FAC) #29 , and a Motion for Plaintiff's counsel, Mansfield Collins, to Withdraw, noticed for hearing on July 28 #30 . The parties simultaneously filed a Stipulation requesting an extension of the deadline for Defendants to respond to the FAC to 8/7 #28 . The Court advised Defendants that if Plaintiff filed an FAC, Defendants would be required to respond within seven days. The parties have not shown good cause for the month-long extension they now seek, although the Court in its discretion will allow a one-week extension. Defendants shall file their motion to dismiss the FAC no later than July 14, and the motion shall be noticed for hearing on 8/11/2023. The Court also CONTINUES the hearing on Mr. Collins's motion to withdraw until 8/11/2023 at 08:30 AM before Judge Stanley Blumenfeld Jr., so that the motions may be heard together. If Plaintiff obtains new counsel before then, she shall promptly notify the Court and request substitution of counsel. Otherwise, the Court expects Mr. Collins to continue to fulfill his obligations to Plaintiff, including by filing an opposition to Defendants' motion, until the Court rules on the motion to withdraw.
