MINUTE ORDER: (TEXT ENTRY ONLY) Due to the status of the case, the Initial Scheduling Conference currently set for 3/2/2017 is RESCHEDULED for 4/27/2017 at 10:00 AM, in Chambers before Magistrate Judge Michael J. Seng. The parties are directed to forthwith meet and confer regarding settlement of this action. Settlement discussions require focus and preparation. They shall involve the attorneys who will try the case and individuals with full authority to negotiate and settle on any terms. Plaintiff shall initiate settlement discussions by providing a written itemization of damages and a meaningful settlement demand briefly stating why the demand is appropriate. Defendants should respond with an acceptance of the offer or with a meaningful counteroffer, briefly explaining why the counteroffer is reasonable. The parties should continue in this way until they reach settlement or have exhausted settlement efforts. Tens day before the continued Scheduling Conference, the parties shall email to mjsorders@caed.uscourts.gov (but not file on ECF), a Joint Status Report Re: Settlement, advising whether they have settled or exhausted their efforts to settle, a report on the status of the settlement discussions, including the dates and terms of all settlement offers and counter offers and the date settlement discussions concluded, signed by Magistrate Judge Michael J.
