Date Filed Document Text
November 26, 2018 Opinion or Order Filing 17 ORDER RE SCHEDULING: The Court has reviewed the parties Rule 26(f) Planning Report (Doc. #16 ) and declines to adopt the parties' proposed dates, as they are far too lengthy in light of the lack of apparent complexity of this case involving claimed irregularities accompanying an automobile lease transaction. The Court concludes that the parties can reasonably complete discovery within 6 months and file any dispositive motions within 7 months. All initial disclosures and plaintiffs' damages analysis shall be served by January 3, 2019 . All fact and expert discovery shall be completed by May 1, 2019 . Dispositive motions shall be filed by June 1, 2019 . The parties shall file a joint trial memorandum on the later of the following dates: within 30 days of the close of discovery or within 30 days of the Courts ruling on any dispositive motions. The case shall be trial-ready within 30 days of the filing of the joint trial memorandum. The parties are encouraged to promptly begin discovery, because the Court is unlikely to extend these dates absent extraordinary and unforeseeable reasons. Please refer to the webpage for Judge Meyer on the District of Connecticut website for Judge Meyers Pretrial Preferences and Trial Preferences and for Judge Meyers Instructions for Discovery Disputes and Instructions for Joint Trial Memorandum. It is so ordered. Signed by Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer on 11/26/2018. (Fanelle, N.)
