Filing 17 ORDER GRANTING MOTION FOR DEFAULT ENTRY AGAINST DEFENDANT SAYBROOK BUICK GMC, INC. (Doc. #15). Plaintiff has filed a motion for default entry pursuant to Fed. R. Civ. P. 55(a) on the ground that defendant Saybrook Buick GMC, Inc. has been properly served but failed to appear or otherwise participate in this action. The Court GRANTS the motion for default entry without prejudice to reconsideration in the event that defendant Saybrook Buick GMC Inc. promptly appears in this action to file a response to the complaint. Plaintiff shall file on or before 21 days from now any motion for default judgment and with any affidavits or other materials that may be necessary to substantiate the complaint's claim for damages and the award of any costs or fees. See City of New York v. Mickalas Pawn Shop, LLC, 645 F.3d 113, 128 (2d Cir. 2011). Defendant shall have 10 days thereafter from the date of plaintiff's motion for default judgment to file any objection or response. In the absence of a timely response (or motion for extension of time), the Court is likely to grant any properly supported motion for default judgment and to enter final judgment against defendant in this action. Failure to do so may result in the Court dismissing the case for failure to prosecute. See D. Conn. L. Civ. R. 41(a). In the event that any of the defendants choose in the interim to file an answer or other response to the complaint, defendants shall file an accompanying motion for extension of time nunc pro tunc stating why there is good cause for their failure to file a timely pleading.
