ORDER DISMISSING PETITION. Petitioner Andrew Hamilton Pritchard has filed this petition for writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 2254. He does not allege that he is in the physical custody of the state or federal government but, rather, demands his "Liberty" and a judicial decree that "ALL Orders of the STATE OF CONNECTICUT JUDICIAL BRANCH are VOID pursuant to Civil Rule 60(b)(3)(4)(6) (d)(3); and Remedy/Restitution of $725,781,907,128.00 to 'We the People' of Connecticut." ECF No. #1 at 1.Section 2254 provides that the Court may entertain a petition for writ of habeas corpus "in behalf of a person in custody pursuant to the judgment of a State court only on the ground that he is in custody in violation of the Constitution or laws or treaties of the United States." 28 U.S.C. 2254(a). Petitioner has not alleged that he is in custody pursuant to the judgment of a State court--or any court, for that matter. A search of the Connecticut Judicial Branch website reveals that Petitioner has five pending criminal cases, but he is released on bond as to all of them. See Connecticut Superior Court Case Nos. S01S-CR22-0169490-T; S01S-CR23-0250191-S; S01S-CR23-0251706-S; S01S-CR23-0251708-S; S01S-CR23-0251790-S. Additionally, a search of the Connecticut Department of Correction's inmate locator does not reveal any results for Petitioner. The Court therefore concludes that Petitioner is not in fact in physical custody of the State, and that his writ of habeas corpus under section 2254 must be denied on that ground. To the extent Petitioner is alleging that the monetary restitution of $725 billion he seeks is somehow akin to a restraint on his liberty similar to custody, he has not set forth why that is so. The petition is denied. The Court concludes that amendment would be futile, as Petitioner is not in custody. The Clerk of Court is therefore directed to close this case. Signed by Judge Sarala V.
