July 11, 2019 Case transferred to Northern District of Illinois. Electronic file sent. (KB, ilcd)
July 3, 2019 Opinion or Order TEXT ORDER entered by Chief Judge Sara Darrow on July 3, 2019. Plaintiff was directed to advise the Court why venue is proper in the Central District of Illinois by July 2, 2019. He did not do so. Because the events in this case occurred in Sterling, Illinois, venue is proper in the Northern District of Illinois. See 28 U.S.C. 1391(b)(2). Accordingly, the Court directs the Clerk to TRANSFER this case to the Northern District of Illinois. See 28 U.S.C. 1406(a) (authorizing a district court to transfer a case filed in the wrong district "if it be in the interest of justice"). (AK, ilcd)

Venue is proper in the district in which any defendant resides and in the district "in which a substantial part of the events or omissions giving rise to the claim occurred." 28 U.S.C. 1391(b)(1)-(2). Plaintiff is directed to advise the Court by July 2, 2019 why the Central District of Illinois is the proper venue for this case.
