TEXT ORDER entered by Judge Michael M. Mihm on 10/21/2021. Plaintiff recently filed a complaint and, prior to merit review, filed a motion for leave to file an amended complaint, #4 . #4 is GRANTED. The clerk is directed to file the amended complaint, vacate the current merit review deadline, and set a new deadline 30 days out. Plaintiff files #5 a petition to proceed in forma pauperis. On October 14, 2021, however, Plaintiff paid the filing fee in full. #5 is MOOT. Plaintiff files #7 requesting the recruitment of pro bono counsel. Plaintiff has filled out a form request, answering "dont understand" to each question, including questions he would be expected to answer such as whether he is currently, or has previously, been represented by counsel. Plaintiff provides no information as to his level of schooling and indicates that he is "mentally deficient" and on psych medications. Plaintiff does not, however, indicate that he has attempted to secure counsel on his own. Pruitt v. Mote, 503 F.3d 647, 654-55 (7th Cir. 2007). #7 is DENIED at this time. If Plaintiff renews his motion, he is to provide copies of the letters sent to, and received from, prospective counsel. (KE)
