Filing 7 ORDER: Signed by the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman on 4/6/2020: Plaintiff's application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #3 remains under review, as the Court requires more information to evaluate Plaintiff's eligibility. If Plaintiff wants to proceed with this case, by May 18, 2020, he must either: (1) prepay the filing fee for this case; or (2) file an "IFP Statement" explaining why he cannot prepay the filing fee despite his receipt of settlement proceeds in a prior case, No. 15 C 6465, while aware of the facts underlying this lawsuit. The foregoing deadline is subject to extensions issued in any general orders regarding the COVID-19 public emergency. The Court also will liberally extend deadlines (and excuse late filings) due to that public emergency or measures taken to abate it. Plaintiff should, however, notify the Court and comply as soon as is safe and practicable if the public emergency renders him unable to comply by the deadline. Any extended failure to comply without communication when the public emergency lifts may result in dismissal of this case for want of prosecution. The Clerk is directed to send a copy of this order to Plaintiff. The Court defers consideration of Plaintiff's complaint #1 and motion seeking attorney representation #4 until Plaintiff resolves his fee status. Mailed notice. (ym, ) |
