June 6, 2024 Filing 11 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Jorge L. Alonso: Plaintiff's application #5 to proceed in forma pauperis ("IFP") (i.e., without prepaying fees or costs) is denied as moot. Plaintiff paid the filing fee in full on May 7, 2024. Plaintiff's motion for attorney representation #6 is denied without prejudice. "There is no constitutional or statutory right to counsel in federal civil cases." Romanelli v. Suliene, 615 F.3d 847, 851 (7th Cir. 2010). In evaluating whether to recruit counsel, the Court is required to assess whether Plaintiff has made "a reasonable attempt to retain counsel" on his own, and, if so, it must determine "'whether the difficulty of the casefactually and legallyexceeds the particular plaintiff's capacity as a layperson to coherently present it.'" Navejar v. Iyiola, 718 F.3d 692, 696 (7th Cir. 2013) (citing Pruitt v. Mote, 503 F.3d 647, 654 (7th Cir. 2007)). In his motion, Plaintiff answered all but one question (his level of education) as "N-A." Plaintiff does not indicate that he has made any attempt to obtain counsel on his own. Plaintiff also reports having attended some college. Plaintiff is advised that he may obtain free limited legal assistance by scheduling an appointment with the William J. Hibbler Memorial Pro Se Assistance Program at https://hibbler-memorial-pro-se-assistance-program.appointlet.com.
