August 7, 2023 Opinion or Order Filing 5 ORDER regarding the Motion for Stay of Civil Forfeiture (Doc. 4 ). This civil forfeiture action was filed by the United States on August 3, 2023. Now, the United States moves to stay the civil forfeiture action under 18 U.S.C. 981(g)(1), stating civil discovery in this action would adversely affect the ability of the United States to conduct a related criminal investigation. The United States requests that the stay last until the criminal investigation and criminal case are completed. Accordingly, the Court GRANTS the Motion for Stay of Civil Forfeiture and STAYS this action in its entirety. The United States shall file a status report in this action on or before February 7, 2024, unless events before that date warrant an earlier report to the Court. Signed by Judge David W.
