Filing 3 ENTRY DISMISSING COMPLAINT, DENYING MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME, AND DIRECTING FURTHER PROCEEDINGS - On July 30, 2019, Austin Eckes submitted a document to the Court entitled "Notice to Clerk of Court." The document states that Mr. Eckes wishes to file a motion to for an extension of time to file a new civil case. See dkt. 1. For administrative purposes, the clerk docketed Mr. Eckes's submission as a complaint and opened a new civil action. However, Mr. Eckes's submission is not a complaint. It does not include any statement describing his claims, the grounds for this Court's jurisdiction over them, or the relief he seeks. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 8(a). For these reasons, the Court issues the following orders: 1. Mr. Eckes's complaint, dkt. 1, is dismissed pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 8(a). 2. Mr. Eckes shall have through September 2, 2019, to file an amended complaint that complies with Rule 8(a). To assist Mr. Eckes, the clerk is directed to include a form complaint with Mr. Eckes's copy of this Entry. 3. Mr. Eckes's request for an extension of time is denied. 4. Mr. Eckes shall also have through September 2, 2019, to either pay the $400.00 filing fee for this action or demonstrate his financial inability to do so (SEE ENTRY FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION).
