Filing 4 ORDER. Petitioner's submission did not include the required $5 filing fee or in forma pauperis ("IFP") application. By letter dated January 30, 2020, the Clerk of Court instructed Petitioner that, in order to proceed with this action, he has to either pay the filing fee or return a completed IFP application within fourteen (14) days of receipt of the letter. (Docket Note dated Jan. 30, 2020.) More than fourteen (14) days have elapsed and the Court has not received any response from Petitioner. In light of Petitioner's pro se status and the one-year statute of limitations applicable to petitions filed pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 2254, the Court grants Petitioner additional time to file the IFP form. However, if Petitioner fails to comply with this order within thirty (30) days, the petition will be dismissed without prejudice. No extension shall be granted without good cause shown. The Clerk of Court shall mail a copy of this order and an IFP form to Petitioner and note the mailing on the docket. No response from Respondent is required at this time. Ordered by Judge Margo K. Brodie on 3/11/2020. (Valentin, Winnethka) |
