October 8, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 6 ORDER denying without prejudice #4 Motion to Authorize. The Court has reviewed Appellant's October 6, 2020 motion to accept documents filed under seal in the bankruptcy proceeding for the record on appeal. Dkt. No. 4. Appellant's motion is denied without prejudice. Under Rule 4(A) of the Court's Individual Rules of Practice in Civil Cases, only sealed or redacted filings containing the categories of information described in Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 5.2 do not require prior permission from the Court. In addition to the categories of information described under that rule, Appellant also anticipates redacting information related to payment history and individual financial information. Under Individual Rule 4(A), this information may warrant a motion for the approval of sealed or redacted filings. Rule 4(A)(ii) describes the proper procedure for filing such motions. Specifically, the party must "(a) publicly file the document with the proposed redactions, and (b) electronically file under seal a copy of the unredacted document with the redactions highlighted. Both documents must be electronically filed through the ECF system and related to the motion." Any renewed application by Appellant for acceptance of the documents under seal in the appellate record must comply with that rule. The Clerk of Court is directed to terminate the motion pending at Dkt. No 4. The Clerk of Court is further directed to serve a copy of this order and the Court's order at Dkt.
