July 8, 2024 Opinion or Order Filing 6 ORDER: Terrance Lawrence, a state inmate in custody at the Whiteville Correctional Facility, filed a pro se Petition for the Writ of Habeas Corpus under 28 U.S.C. 2254 (Doc. No. #1 ) and an application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis (IFP). (Doc. No. #2 ). Because Petitioner's IFP application complies with the requirements of Habeas Rule 3(a) and reflects that, at the time he filed the Petition, he lacked sufficient financial resources to pay the five-dollar filing fee without undue hardship, that application (Doc. No. #2 ) is GRANTED. Accordingly, Respondent is DIRECTED to file an answer, plead, or otherwise respond to the Petition in accordance with Habeas Rule 5 within 30 DAYS of the entry of this Order.
