On August 12, 2024, Plaintiff purported to designate Attorney Kenneth Daniel Ferguson as local counsel. Doc. No. 10. In his notice of appearance, Attorney Ferguson states that his principal office is in Denton, which is in the Eastern District of Texas. 28 U.S.C. 124(c)(3). Attorney Ferguson does not state where his residence is located. Attorney Ferguson therefore does not qualify as local counsel. N.D. Tex. L. Civ. R. 83.10 ("'Local counsel' means a member of the bar of this court who resides or maintains the attorney's principal office in this district and whose residence or principal office is located within 50 miles of the courthouse in the division in which the case is pending." (emphasis added)).Accordingly, the Court ORDERS Plaintiff to designate local counsel no later than August 28, 2024 unless he earlier obtains leave from the Court to proceed without local counsel.
