Chinese Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit against Cisco, the company's CEO John Chambers, two Cisco China executives, and others, alleging violations of the Alien Torts Statute for designing, supplying, and maintaining China's 'Golden Shield' electronic censorship and surveillance network with Cisco's 'policenet' system.

The civil lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages from Cisco, accusing the tech company of aiding and abetting or conspiring with the Chinese Communist Party and Chinese Public Security forces, resulting in crimes against humanity, prolonged and arbitrary detention, torture, killing, wrongful death, false imprisonment, assault, battery, and more.
