Filing 39 MEMORANDUM OPINION - For the foregoing reasons, the court finds that Mr. Woodward did not have an employment contract with BB&T, and his claims for breach of contract and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing fail as a matter of law. The court also finds that his defamation claim fails because BB&T's stated reason for his termination was not defamatory, and its stated explanation for his termination was true. Therefore, the court will enter summary judgment in favor of BB&T. Signed by Chief Judge Karon O Bowdre on 7/30/2018. (KEK) |
