February 12, 2024 Opinion or Order Filing 7 ORDER Before the court is Plaintiff C.B.'s Motion to Proceed Anonymously for Pretrial Proceedings. Doc. 6. In her complaint, C.B. alleges Defendant G6 Hospitality Property, LLC violated the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act, 18 U.S.C. 1595. Doc. 1. Specifically, C.B. claims that she is a victim of sex trafficking and that sex traffickers exploited her on the premises of the defendant's hotel. Doc. 1 at 10. C.B. further represents that her name and address are omitted from the pleadings, and should remain omitted, due to the sensitive, private, and potentially retaliatory nature of her allegations. Doc. 1 at 10. After the defendant appears, it may challenge C.B.s right to proceed anonymously and the court will revisit the matter then. For the present, however, the court will permit C.B. to proceed anonymously. Accordingly, it is ORDERED that Plaintiff C.B.'s motion to proceed anonymously (Doc. 6) is GRANTED. January 31, 2024 Opinion or Order Filing 3 ORDER Before the court is Plaintiff C.B.'s Complaint against Defendant G6 Hospitality Property, LLC, for alleged violations of the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act ("TVPRA"), 18 U.S.C. 1595. Doc. 1. Specifically, the Complaint alleges that C.B. is a victim of sex trafficking and that sex traffickers exploited her on the premises of the defendant's hotel. Doc. 1 at 10. C.B. represents that her name and address are omitted from the Complaint due to the sensitive, private, and potentially retaliatory nature of her allegations. Doc. 1 at 10. Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 10(a) requires the title of the complaint to name all of the parties. C.B. has not sought leave of court to proceed anonymously. Accordingly, her complaint is due to be dismissed without prejudice for failure to comply with Rule 10(a). C.B. is ORDERED to show cause on or before February 14, 2024, why this case should not be dismissed for her failure to comply with Rule 10(a). This show cause response may incorporate a motion to proceed anonymously that details why this is an exceptional case under Eleventh Circuit precedent. See, e.g., Freedom from Religion Found., Inc. v. Emanuel County Sch. Sys., 109 F. Supp. 3d 1353, 1356 (S.D. Ga. 2015); Doe v. Stegall, 653 F.2d 180 (5th Cir. 1981).
