MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS - ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE by Judge Percy Anderson. On October 23, 2018, the Court ordered Plaintiff to show cause, in writing, why one or more of the defendants should not be dropped from this case for improper joinder. Plaintiff's response to the Court's Order to Show Cause was improperly submitted as a letter to the Court in violation of this District's Local Rules. Specifically, Local Rule 83-2.5 provides: (see document for details). Accordingly, the Nursing Facility Defendants are dropped from this action for improper joinder. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 21. This order does not limit Plaintiffs ability to refile her claims against the Nursing Facility Defendants in a separate action. The letter submitted in response to the Order to Show Cause is ordered stricken and returned to counsel. Ensign Panorama, LLC and Panorama Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center terminated. (mrgo)
