Standish: In order to move this case forward, the Clerks Office is DIRECTED to send Plaintiff copies of Dockets 1 and 5 as an attachment to this Order. Filing 5 MINUTE ORDER (IN CHAMBERS) Order Regarding Supplement to Complaint by Magistrate Judge Gail J. Standish: On September 28, 2021, Plaintiff filed a civil rights complaint [Dkt. #1 , "Complaint"] and a request to proceed without prepayment of the filing fee [Dkt. #2 , "Request"]. As filed, the Complaint is patently defective. It is not signed, in violation of Fed.R. Civ. P. 11, does not contain any claims, and does not contain a prayer for relief. As such, this case cannot proceed. Today, however, the Court has received a loose set of pages that Plaintiff mailed to the Clerk's Office, which that Office received on September 30, 2021. It appears that Plaintiff intends for these loose pages to serve as the back portion of his Complaint. The Clerk is DIRECTED to file the documents received on September 20, 2021, as a "Supplement to the Complaint" at Docket No. #4 . Once so filed, the Court will screen the Complaint and the Supplement to the Complaint together as if they constituted a single complaint. Until screening is completed and until Plaintiff is granted leave to proceed without prepayment of the filing fee, he may not proceed with service of process on any Defendant.
