Filing 8 ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE RE: SUBJECT-MATTER JURISDICTION (IN CHAMBERS) by Judge Virginia A. Phillips: On July 8, 2013, Plaintiff Martha Jo Peters (Plaintiff) filed a Complaint against Defendants Employment Development of California (EDD) and Marriott Hotel Company (Marriott) (collectively Defendants). (Doc. No. 3 (Complaint).) From the Complaint, it is unclear whether this Court has jurisdiction. For the reasons discussed below, the Court orders Plaintiff to show cause regarding subject-mat ter jurisdiction. Finding that the basis of the Court's jurisdiction is unclear, the Court ORDERSPlaintiff to show cause why this action should not be dismissed for lack of subject matter jurisdiction. Plaintiff shall file a response, in writing, no later than July 30, 2013. Failure to respond shall result in this action being dismissed without prejudice. (yl) |
