October 9, 2015 Opinion or Order Filing 6 CONSENT DECREE by Judge Percy Anderson: The United States alleges that Defendant County of Riverside, California (the "County") discriminated against Brent Knigge, in violation of 42 U.S.C. Sections 12112(a) and (b)(5), and 29 C.F.R. Sectio n 1630.9, by failing to hire Mr. Knigge for the position of Probation Corrections Officer I ("PCO I") because he has a disability, epilepsy, and/or was regarded by the County as having a disability. The County denies any and all of the alle gations being made by the United States, and specifically denies that it discriminated against Mr. Knigge in any way. Nothing in this Consent Decree should be construed as an admission of liability by the County. Within 30 days of the entry of this D ecree, The County will offer to pay Mr. Brent Knigge a total of $50,000.00, which includes: (a) $21,628.46, as back pay. (b) $2,209.63, as accumulated interest on the back pay. (c) $26,161.91, as compensatory damages. If Mr. Knigg e accepts the relief then County must pay the total monetary amount of $50,000.00 within 30 days of receipt of his signed Release of Claims and Election Form from Mr. Knigge.
