MINUTES OF IN CHAMBERS - ORDER STAYING THIS ACTION PURSUANT TO THE COLORADO RIVER DOCTRINE AND DENYING AS MOOT PLAINTIFF'S REQUEST TO PROCEED IN FORMA PAUPERIS by Judge Dolly M. Gee: Plaintiff Maha El Moqaddem's claims arise out of the same factual circumstances that form the basis for another action filed by Moqaddem, which was previously stayed by the Court pursuant to the Colorado River doctrine. See Moqaddem v. Pinto, CV 22-1808-DMG (JEMx) (C.D. Cal.) (Doc. No. 142) (the "First Action"). The Court STAYS this action, for the reasons articulated in its order staying the First Action. This action shall be administratively closed pending resolution of the State Court Action, and the parties shall file a joint status report within ten days after the resolution of that action indicating what issues, if any, remain to be litigated in this case. Moqaddem's request to proceed in forma pauperis #5 is DENIED as moot. In addition, Moqaddem's filings styled "notice" [Doc. Nos. 11, 12, 15, 17, 18], in which she objects to the assignment of this action to this Court, are STRICKEN. To the extent Moqaddem seeks relief on the grounds raised in those filings, "[a] request for a court order must be made by motion." Fed. R. Civ. P. 7(b)(1). Any such motion must comply with this District's Local Rules, as well as Rule 11 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Finally, the Court ORDERS that any future filing in this action purportedly filed by legal counsel, George E. Murphy, shall be manually signed by counsel. Any filing that is not so signed will be summarily rejected. Court Reporter: Not Reported. (gk)
