Filing 16 MINUTES ORDER (IN CHAMBERS) ORDER REMANDING CASE by Judge Andrew J. Guilford: Ziegler filed a notice of removal under 28 U.S.C. § 1441, invoking diversity jurisdiction. But Zieglers notice didnt sufficiently establish diversity jurisdiction. Although its representations about the citizenship of the parties were well taken, the Court was not convinced by Zieglers assertions about the amount in controversy in this case. Nothing is to be more jealously guarded by a court than its juris diction. See United States v. Ceja-Prado, 333 F.3d 1046, 1051 (9th Cir. 2003) (internal quotation marks omitted). The Court REMANDS this case to the appropriate state court. All other pending matters are VACATED. See document for further information. Made JS-6 (es) |

Accordingly, the Court ORDERS Ziegler Practice Transitions to appear on February 12, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. to show cause why this case should not be dismissed for lack of subject matter jurisdict ion. Other parties may, but need not, attend the hearing as well. The Court also ORDERS Ziegler Practice Transitions to file with the Court a document showing its amountin-controversy calculations, including present value by February 5, 2018.
