Filing 28 TEXT ORDER: This matter is before the court pursuant to Defendant Curtis International Ltd.'s ("Curtis") Motion for Extension of Time to File Response to Plaintiff's Motion for Preliminary Injunction. (ECF No. 27.) In its Motion, Curtis seeks to stay the aforementioned response deadline of April 5, 2019, until either (1) "the [c]ourt rules on Curtis's Motion for Change of Venue that it will file on or before April 9, 2019," or (2) April 15, 2019. (Id. at 1.) Curtis asserts that the extension will give it time to file its answer to the Amended Complaint (ECF No. 22) and submit argument regarding whether the District of South Carolina is the appropriate venue for this action. (ECF No. 27 at 12.) In accordance with Local Rule 7.02 D.S.C., Curtis attempted to, but could not, obtain Plaintiff's consent to the extension requested in the Motion. (Id. at 2.) Under Rule 6(b)(1)(A), "the court may, for good cause, extend the time" specified for "[w]hen an act may or must be done" by way of a motion made "before the original time... expires." Fed. R. Civ. P. 6(b)(1)(A). Upon its review, the court finds that Curtis has demonstrated good cause for an extension of time. Nautilus Ins. Co. v. SPM Resorts, Inc., C/A No. 4:13-2885-BHH, 2015 WL 5781420, at *2 (D.S.C. Sept. 29, 2015) ("Good cause exists when the moving party shows that the deadlines cannot reasonably be met despite the diligence of the party requesting the extension." (citing Vercon Constr., Inc. v. Highland Mortg. Co., 187 F. App'x 264, 265 (4th Cir. 2006))). Therefore, the court GRANTS IN PART Curtis's Motion for Extension of Time and sets April 15, 2019, as the new deadline for Curtis to respond to Plaintiff's Motion for Preliminary Injunction.
