This matter was removed from Kern County Superior Court to this court by Defendant Chevron on February 25, 2022. (Doc. No. #1 ). On March 4, 2022 the parties stipulated to a twenty-eight (28) day extension of time for Defendant Chevron to respond to the petition pursuant to Local Rule 144(a) in order that the parties may attempt to voluntarily resolve this matter. (Doc. No. #6 ). Chevron's response to the petition was due on or before Friday, April 1, 2022. As of the date of the Minute Order, Chevron has not filed a response to the petition nor have the parties filed a notice of settlement pursuant to Local Rule 160(a). No later than Wednesday, July 13, 2022, Chevron shall file a response to the petition; or, if the parties have resolved this matter, Plaintiff shall file a notice of settlement or motion to voluntarily dismiss this action under Fed. R. Civ. P. 41(a)(1). In the alternative, if the parties have not resolved this case but are continuing their efforts to settle this case without further litigation, the parties shall promptly file a joint motion seeking a further extension of time for Chevron to respond to the petition.
