ORDER. This case was transferred from the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. On a quick read of the docket, the motions there were for transfer and, alternatively, to strike or dismiss the complaint. Because the venue motion was granted, there is no pending motion on the docket. Instead of delving further into the docket to work out the procedural next steps, the court notes that the automatically set CMC is May 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with the CMC statement due May 2. And even if there were a live motion, which there is not, the court system does not populate live motions that are transferred: instead, the parties re-notice them on the ordinary five-week calendar under the local rules. Finally, without looking at the briefs, a change of forum sometimes results in a need to submit briefs that cite circuit authority. (That context may not exist here.) If the parties rely on earlier motions, they do not have to refile them and can instead can re-notice them by filing a one-page notice that cross-references the earlier-filed motion and setting it for a hearing on any Thursday at least five weeks after the notice. The parties can agree to a different approach, and in any event, the court can discuss the issues with the parties at the May 9 case-management conference.
