March 12, 2024 Opinion or Order Filing 6 ORDER. Defendant Sabrina Afifi has filed a notice of removal and a request to proceed in forma pauperis. Dkt. Nos. 1 & 2. The Court previously granted remand in related Case. No. 23-cv-6235-JD, because this is an unlawful detainer action that does not raise a federal question. Dkt. No. 13. Notwithstanding the Court's order, defendant Afifi re-filed essentially the same removal notice, which asserts a number of grievances against plaintiff Chiang that do not establish federal jurisdiction. Consequently, the case is remanded to state court and closed. The IFP application is denied as moot. No further filings will be accepted. Afifi is advised that another attempt to remove the same claims may result in an award of fees and costs to Chiang under 28 U.S.C. 1447(c). Signed by Judge James Donato on 3/12/2024.
