October 27, 2020 Opinion or Order ORDER: Demarcus Whitaker, proceeding pro se, appeals from the district courts August 24, 2020 judgment dismissing his amended complaint against the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and several individuals. Although Mr. Whitakers notice of appeal was dated September 23, 2020, the district court received it on September 24, 2020, which was over 30 days after the district court entered its judgment. Accordingly, we direct Mr. Whitaker to SHOW CAUSE, within twenty-one (21) days of this order, why his appeal should not be dismissed as untimely. See 28 U.S.C. 2107(a) (requiring, subject to certain exceptions, that a notice of appeal from a judgment in a civil case be filed within 30 days of the entry of the judgment); Fed. R. App. P. 4(a)(1)(A) (same); Hamer v. Neighborhood Hous. Servs. of Chi., 138 S. Ct. 13, 21 (2017) (explaining that the deadline for filing a notice of appeal is mandatory and jurisdictional); Green v.
