ORDER: Neither James Malvezzi nor an attorney signed the instant notice of appeal, as required by Fed. R. Civ. P. 11(a). While this is not a jurisdictional defect, it is nevertheless one that must be corrected for the appeal to proceed. Becker v. Montgomery, 532 U.S. 757, 760 (2001). Lawrence Malvezzi, a non-attorney, cannot perfect James Malvezzis appeal. See Theriault v. Silber, 579 F.2d 302, 302 n.1 (5th Cir. 1978) (concluding that non-attorney party could appeal on only his own behalf). Accordingly, James Malvezzi is DIRECTED to file an amended notice of appeal signed by himself within 30 days or to obtain counsel and have counsel file a signed, amended notice of appeal within 30 days. The Clerk is DIRECTED to provide a copy of this Order to the district court. The district court shall transmit to this Court any notice of appeal filed in compliance with this Order.
