ORDER (Clerk) The district court sealed the entire record of that court's proceedings. That does not, however, mean that the documents filed in this Court will be automatically sealed. See 3d Cir. L.A.R. 106.1(a) & (c)(1) (requiring motion in court of appeals even where records were sealed by district court). Unless this Court orders otherwise, documents filed in this Court are publicly accessible. If the parties believe their briefs, the appendix, or other documents must be filed under seal, any sealed filings must be accompanied by a motion to seal. The appellant has filed a one-sentence "motion to file under seal," appearing to ask that all present and future filings in these appeals be sealed "[d]ue to the sensitive nature" of the proceedings. Motions to seal must ordinarily set forth with particularity the reasons why sealing is necessary, explain the basis for sealing, and specify the desired duration of the sealing order. See 3d Cir. L.A.R. 106.1(a) & (c)(1). If the appellant wants to supplement his motion to seal, he must file a supplemental motion within twenty-one days of this order. The parties' filings in these appeals will be held provisionally under seal pending a decision on the appellant's motion to seal and any supplemental motion. In accordance with the Court's November 4, 2008, Notice to the Bar, the parties are advised that dockets in the court of appeals (including the parties' names) are not sealed, as the text of the docket contains procedural information only. All parties are directed to use the CM/ECF events preceded by the word "SEALED" whenever filing documents under seal. All hard copies of documents submitted to this Court under seal should be properly labeled "SEALED" and provided in a clearly marked envelope. Answer due 09/12/2024.
