Date Filed Document Text
November 18, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 4 ORDER issued GRANTING Motion for Leave to Withdraw as Counsel for Defendant and to Suspend Briefing, in part. [ # 2 ] Attorney Sara M. Vig is permitted to withdraw from the representation of defendant Kristin Norris in this appeal. Further, the request to appoint new appellate counsel is DENIED. The court is not required to appoint counsel on appeal of the denial of a defendants motion to reduce sentence. The panel assigned to decide the appeal on the merits will recruit counsel if that step is appropriate, but defendant Norris must first submit a brief. Therefore, this appeal shall proceed to briefing. The briefing schedule is as follows: Appellant's brief due on or before 12/28/2020 for Kristin Norris. Appellee's brief due on or before 01/27/2021 for United States of America. Appellant's reply brief, if any, is due on or before 02/17/2021 for Appellant Kristin Norris.
