March 25, 2025 Opinion or Order Filing 9 ORDER re: Request for court rules on appeal. [ # 8 ] Appellants request for copies of court rules is GRANTED. The clerk shall send the appellant a copy of this courts brief information sheet for pro se litigants so that the appellant may familiarize himself with the courts expectations for briefs, Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure 28, 30, 31, and 32, and Seventh Circuit Rules 12(b), 26.1, 28, 30, 31, and 32. Further, the appellant may submit one copy of papers filed with the court but is reminded that he is still obligated to serve opposing counsel with a copy of all court filings. Because the record on appeal is electronic, it is available for this court's use without the need for transmission of a physical record. This court will have electronic access to the complete record on appeal when it considers the merits of these appeals. The appellant need only attach the judgment or order under review to his opening brief. Cir. R. 30(a). SCR [9] [7442557] [25-1235] (PS) [Entered: 03/25/2025 02:48 PM]

March 14, 2025 Filing 5 Filed notice of change of address for Quennel T. Augusta. (Forwarded from the District Court). [5] [7440406] [25-1235] (CAG) [Entered: 03/14/2025 11:33 AM]
February 25, 2025 Filing 4 Filed District Court order GRANTING Appellant Quennel T. Augusta leave to proceed on appeal in forma pauperis. Date IFP granted: 02/25/2025. Plaintiff filed a [28] motion to reconsider the Court's January 13, 2025 Text Order dismissing his case with prejudice. Because the motion was filed within 28 days of judgment, the Court construes it as a motion under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 59(e). "Rule 59(e) allows a court to alter or amend a judgment only if the [moving party] can demonstrate a manifest error of law or present newly discovered evidence." Obriecht v. Raemisch, 517 F.3d 489, 494 (7th Cir. 2008). Plaintiff has not identified a manifest error of law or newly discovered evidence warranting reconsideration. Accordingly, the [28] motion is DENIED. Forwarded to JXK. [4] [7436660] [25-1235] (AP) [Entered: 02/25/2025 09:52 AM]
February 14, 2025 Opinion or Order Filing 3 ORDER: In the present case, appellant filed a motion for reconsideration on January 23, 2025, within 28 days of entry of judgment on January 13, 2025. This may be a timely Rule 59 motion. See Carlson v. CSX Transp., Inc. , 758 F.3d 819, 82526 (7th Cir. 2014). As such, it appears to render this appeal premature, because the district court has not yet disposed of the motion and entered its order on the civil docket. Florian v. Sequa Corp. , 294 F.3d 828, 829 (7th Cir. 2002). Accordingly, proceedings in this appeal are SUSPENDED pending the district court's resolution of the motion for reconsideration. If a party contends that this appeal should not be suspended, then that party should file a brief memorandum on or before February 28, 2025, stating why suspension is not appropriate. Further, appellees participating in this appeal shall file a status report within seven days of a ruling on the motion for reconsideration, or on or shortly before March 14, 2025, if no order has yet issued.
