Date Filed Document Text
October 21, 2026 Opinion or Order Filing 3 ORDER re: A preliminary review of the short record suggests that appellants notice of appeal may be deficient. Rule 11(a) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure requires that any document filed in the district court, including a notice of appeal, be signed by an attorney or by a party personally, if the party is not represented by an attorney. See Becker v. Montgomery , 532 U.S. 757, 763 (2001). Appellant Felibi Siagha-Coke does not appear to have signed the notice of appeal nor had a lawyer do so on his behalf. Accordingly, appellant shall file in this court, on or before November 4, 2026, a duplicate notice of appeal containing appellants signature or the signature of an attorney representing him. See Becker , 532 U.S. at 764; Lewis v. Lenc-Smith Mfg. Co. , 784 F. 2d 829, 831 (7th Cir. 1986). Failure to provide the omitted signature on the notice of appeal may lead to this appeal being dismissed. Briefing is SUSPENDED pending further court order. Sent Certified Mail.
