ORDER granting in part and denying in part #14 Motion to Stay by Magistrate Judge Nina Y. Wang on 4/15/2020. First, the Consent Form deadline REMAINS SET for 4/20/2020. Second, this court is not persuaded that a 120-day extension based on the COVID-19 pandemic is justified based on the record before it. This case was filed on January 7, 2020 in state court, based on conduct that occurred on or about July 6, 2009. Under the Parties' proposal, discovery would not commence until at least September 2020 -- 11 years after the incident in question. In addition, the current stay-at-home order in Colorado is set to expire on April 26, 2020, and there is no indication that if it is extended, it will extend for another 120-days. Further, based on the court's prior experience in similar products liability cases, discovery often implicates discovery taken in other cases and parties tend to seek a discovery period well beyond the six month period that this District uses as a presumptive limit. For these reasons, this court GRANTS a 30-day extension, and RESETS the Telephonic Scheduling Conference to 6/4/2020 10:30 AM before Magistrate Judge Nina Y.
