ORDER denying #9 Motion for Extension of Time to Answer or Otherwise Respond. The Court has reviewed Defendant's Motion for Extension of Time to File and finds the Motion is deficient because it fails to adhere to Judge Arguello's Practice Standards. Those standards require motions for extension of time be filed at noon one business day before the due date. CMA Civ. Practice Standard 6.1(b)(3). Failure to adhere to Practice Standards alone is grounds to deny Defendant's Motion. Further, Defendant's failure to confer with Plaintiff's counsel is also grounds for denying the Motion. Specifically, the Local Rules of Practice and this Court's Practice Standards require the parties confer prior to filing a motion. See D.C.Colo.LCivR 7.1(a) and SKC Practice Standards E.1. Here, Defendant asserts it satisfied Local Rule 7.1(a)duty to confer because they sent an email and called Plaintiff's counsel the day its answer was due. The Court disagrees and urges counsel to familiarize themselves with the Court's Practice Standards to avoid issues in the future. The Motion for Extension of Time is DENIED without prejudice.
