MINUTE ORDER: Before the Court is Plaintiff's Notice of Objection to Magistrate Judge Scheduling Conference. ECF No. #8 . In his Notice, Plaintiff states that he "does not consent to a Magistrate Judge conducting any proceedings in this case, including but not limited to pretrial scheduling conferences." Id. at 1. Under 28 U.S.C. 636(b)(1)(A), a district judge may designate a magistrate judge to hear and determine any pretrial matter, except for certain dispositive motions on which a magistrate judge issue a recommendation. Likewise, both the Local Rules for the District of Colorado, available at www.cod.uscourts.gov, and "[t]he rules of civil procedure plainly authorize status conferences such as those the magistrate judge held in this case." Bralich v. Gayner, 2022 WL 4004601, at *2 (10th Cir. Sept. 2, 2022) (citing 28 U.S.C. 636(b)(1)(A), Fed. R. Civ. P. 16(a)(2), and D.C. Colo. L. Civ. R. 72.1(a) and 72.1(c)(1)). In this case, the Court has elected to utilize this process and referred "all motions" to Magistrate Judge Scott T. Varholak. See ECF No. 4 .
