April 7, 2026 Opinion or Order Filing 64 ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE by Magistrate Judge Susan Prose on 4/7/26. In its February 23, 2026 Status Conference Minutes, the Court directed Plaintiff to "file a motion for leave to proceed under a pseudonym" on or before April 3, 2026, and found good cause to allow that motion and any response to be filed under Level 1 restriction. ECF No. 57. The Court further stated that it would "continue identifying Plaintiff as Jane Doe until such time as the court may order otherwise." Id. To date, Plaintiff has not filed a motion for leave to proceed under a pseudonym, nor has she requested an extension of the April 3, 2026 deadline. Accordingly, it is ORDERED that on or before April 15, 2026, Plaintiff shall SHOW CAUSE in writing: (1) why she failed to comply with the Court's February 23, 2026 directive to file a motion for leave to proceed under a pseudonym by April 3, 2026; and (2) why this case should continue to proceed with Plaintiff identified as "Jane Doe" in the caption and public filings. Plaintiff's written response may either: (a) consist of a properly supported Motion for Leave to Proceed Under a Pseudonym (which may be filed under Level 1 restriction) that complies with the Court's prior order and applicable law and explains the specific good cause that justifies continued pseudonym protection; or (b) explain why, despite her failure to meet the April 3, 2026 deadline, good cause exists both for her noncompliance and for maintaining the pseudonym, and why the Court should grant her additional time to file the motion. Plaintiff is further ADVISED that if she fails to timely respond to this Order to Show Cause, or if the Court determines that she has not shown good cause to proceed under a pseudonym, the Court will recommend that the District Judge direct the Clerk of Court to amend the caption and docket to reflect Plaintiff's legal name and to require Plaintiff to litigate this action in her own name going forward, and may impose such other sanctions as the Court deems appropriate.
