December 14, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 14 ORDER. Defendants' #13 motion for extension is hereby DENIED for failure to demonstrate "good cause" because it provided no explanation as to why an extension is required. See D. Conn. L. Civ. R. 7(b)(1) ("All motions for extensions of time must be decided by a Judge and will not be granted except for good cause. The good cause standard requires a particularized showing that the time limitation in question cannot reasonably be met despite the diligence of the party seeking the extension."). Defendants' motion also failed to meet Local Rule 7's time-of-filing requirement, which provides that: "All motions for extension of time shall be filed at least three (3) business days before the deadline sought to be extended, except in cases in which compelling circumstances warranting an extension arise during the three days before the deadline. Any motion for extension of time filed fewer than three business days before the deadline sought to be extended shall, in addition to satisfying all other requirements of this Rule, set forth reasons why the motion was not filed at least three business days before the deadline in question." D. Conn. L. Civ. R. 7(b)(3). Defendants may, if they believe they can do so in good faith, refile a motion for extension in compliance with the requirements of Local Rule 7(b).Signed by Judge Michael P. Shea on 12/14/2020.
