Date Filed Document Text
February 3, 2023 Opinion or Order Filing 52 NOTICE and ORDER. The Court has become aware that the plaintiff submitted to chambers in a courtesy copy the attached exhibits, offered in support of her statement of facts in opposition to Defendants' Local Rule 56(a)(1) statement, but did not file on the docket all the exhibits included in the courtesy copy on the docket. Those that were filed on the docket can be found at ECF No. 46. The plaintiff is reminded that all filings submitted in this matter must be filed on the docket. In the interests of justice, the Court will consider these exhibits in ruling on the cross-motions for summary judgment, but must first allow Defendant to respond. The Court will permit Defendant to file a response as to these exhibits no later than February 13, 2023. Defendant's response shall not exceed 12 pages. The plaintiff may not file a sur-reply. Signed by Judge Michael P. Shea on 2/3/2023. (Attachments: #1 Exhibit Plaintiff's Ex. B, #2 Exhibit Plaintiff's Ex. C, #3 Exhibit Plaintiff's Ex. D, #4 Exhibit Plaintiff's Ex. G, #5 Exhibit Plaintiff's Ex. I, #6 Exhibit Plaintiff's Ex. K, #7 Exhibit Plaintiff's Ex. L, #8 Exhibit Plaintiff's Ex. M) (Davis, Christina)
November 12, 2022 Filing 51 First OBJECTION My RIGHT TO SPEAK and show evidence filed by Amina Shaham. (Shaham, Amina)
September 27, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 50 ORDER: The #49 "ex parte" motion is DENIED and ordered UNSEALED. The motion, which should not have been filed ex parte, "request[s] an emergency meeting" and indicates the pro se plaintiff "has reasons to believe that there are false pending criminal allegations and bogus warrants out on her behalf." ECF No. 49 at 1. This is a case in which the plaintiff is suing her private sector employer for alleged employment discrimination. See ECF No. 16 at 1-2. Any "false pending criminal allegations" and "bogus warrant" are thus well beyond the scope of the complaint and the Court's authority to address. There does not, therefore, appear to be any purpose related to this lawsuit to convene the "emergency meeting" Plaintiff requests in her motion. The matters Plaintiff is raising appear to deal with issues and authorities unrelated to this action. The Court notifies the Plaintiff that an "ex parte" motion should rarely be filed and is reserved for situations in which there is a good reason that the adverse party, and the public, should not be allowed to see the motion; that is not this situation.Signed by Judge Michael P. Shea on 9/27/2022. (Davis, Christina)
September 26, 2022 Filing 49 First EXPARTE MOTION Urgent by Amina Shaham. (Shaham, Amina)
September 26, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 48 ORDER: The undersigned's chambers received a call this morning, apparently from the self-represented plaintiff, asking to speak with the undersigned and making statements suggesting that someone was trying to kill her. If the plaintiff believes she is in danger or has been threatened, the undersigned urges her to call 911. It is not proper for a party either one represented by counsel or one who is representing herself to make telephone calls to chambers. The undersigned is not allowed by the rules to speak to litigants or their counsel in ex parte conversations, that is, in the absence of opposing parties or counsel. The plaintiff is instructed not to make such calls to chambers. Signed by Judge Michael P. Shea on 9/26/2022. (Davis, Christina)
