Date Filed Document Text
January 4, 2024 Opinion or Order Filing 18 ORDER granting nunc pro tunc #15 Motion for Extension of Time. Defendants seek to extend the deadline by which the Rule 26(f) Report must be submitted in order for the court to consider a motion to dismiss that the moving parties anticipated filing. As Defendants have filed their motion to dismiss and the deadline for submitting a 26(f) Report has passed, the court hereby grants the motion. The parties shall submit their Rule 26(f) Report by a date to be determined upon the disposition of the motion to dismiss. However, the court notes that the local rules require motions for extension of time to be filed "at least three business days before the deadline sought to be extended." D. Conn. L. Civ. R. 7(b)3. Local rules further require the moving party to submit a statement which confirms that the moving party has "inquired of all non-moving parties" on whether they consent to the motion. D. Conn. L. Civ. R. 7(b)2. Defendants' motion satisfies neither of these requirements. Still, no objection to the motion has been docketed in the time since the motion was filed. Moving forward, the court respectfully requests adherence to the local rules. Signed by Judge Omar A. Williams on 01/04/2024. (Kim, Hyo June)

November 22, 2023 Opinion or Order Filing 14 ORDER granting #13 Motion for Extension of Time. Defendants shall file a response to Plaintiff's complaint on or before January 4, 2024. Defense counsel reports just recently having been retained, but it was defense counsel who filed the notice of removal and still filed this motion three (3) days after the deadline that he seeks to extend. Going forward, the court requests compliance with the Local Rules, which require all motions for extension of time to be filed "at least three (3) business days before the deadline sought to be extended."
