January 31, 2024 Opinion or Order Filing 8 ORDER. Mr. Boyne has filed a petition for writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 2241 challenging his pretrial detention. This Court's Local Rules require that all petitions for writ of habeas corpus be filed "on forms approved by the Court and supplied by the Clerk." D. Conn. L. Civ. R. 8(b). Although petitioner states that he has followed the format of the court's form, the specific claims he raises in the petition are not entirely clear. For example, he references proceedings in state and federal court in Connecticut and Virginia, relating to his incarceration, his extradition, and deprivation of property. Use of the required form should permit greater understanding of the issues he raises, the reasons he challenges his incarceration, and the manner through which he has exhausted his state court remedies. The Clerk is directed to send Mr. Boyne a copy of the section 2241 form. Mr. Boyne is directed to refile his petition on the required form, on or before March 1, 2024. When it is received by the Clerk of the Court, an order to show cause shall issue. Failure to refile using the correct form by March 1, 2024, may result in the dismissal of this case. Signed by Judge Kari A. Dooley on 1/31/2024. (Alquesta, Steven)
