Filing 27 ENDORSED ORDER. Attorney Jason Kenneth Castro failed to attend the Rule 16 conference on November 6, 2023 at the scheduled time. Castro is the lead--and only--attorney for defendants. It is Castro's responsibility to comply with the court's hearing notices and to ensure that he receives them. By failing to do so, he needlessly wasted the time of both the court and opposing counsel. A sanction is appropriate both as a consequence and to deter similar conduct in the future. By November 13, 2023, Castro must either (1) file a notice certifying he has mailed a copy of this order and a check for $50 payable to the Southwest Florida Federal Court Bar Association to P.O. Box 264, Fort Myers, Florida 33902 or (2) show cause why the court should not require him to do so. The SWFL Federal Bar (a 501(c)(3) organization) will use these funds to supply, equip, and maintain the attorney lounge, which serves as a workplace for the benefit of all attorneys who visit the courthouse. The Rule 16 conference will be rescheduled by separate notice. Signed by Magistrate Judge Kyle C. Dudek on 11/6/2023. (Dudek, Kyle) |
Filing 26 ENDORSED ORDER. The parties failed to file a case management report as required (Doc. 13.) By November 9, 2023, the parties must confer and file their case management report.
