TEXT ORDER. The Local Rules for the Middle District of Florida provide that "[a] party must begin an action in the division to which the action is most directly connected or in which the action is most conveniently advanced. The judge must transfer the action to the division most consistent with the purpose of this rule." M.D. Fla. R. 1.04(b). This case appears to have no connection to the Fort Myers Division and the Defendant is the Tampa Bay Police Department, which Plaintiff alleges is located in Tampa (see Doc. #1). Accordingly, the Court finds that a transfer to the Tampa Division would be most consistent with the purpose of the Local Rules. The Clerk of Court is DIRECTED to TRANSFER this case to the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida and CLOSE the Fort Myers file. Signed by Judge John L. Badalamenti on 12/11/2023. (AMB)
