ENDORSED ORDER: On June 5, 2019, Chief Judge Merryday directed that Craig Downs file a motion to withdraw from each case in the Middle District of Florida in which he filed a notice of appearance. This was because Mr. Downs was not a member of the Middle District of Florida bar. That motion was to have been filed by June 17, 2019. This case was transferred to this Court on June 28, 2019, and on that same day, Mr. Downs was noticed that he was not a member of the Middle District of Florida bar and needed to take corrective action. It appears that Mr. Downs is in violation of Chief Judge Merryday's order and of the Local Rules, as he is not a member of the Middle District of Florid bar. Neither is Mr. Nathan Lee. Accordingly, the Clerk is directed to strike their notices of appearance and if and when they become members of the Middle District of Florida bar, or if the Court is mistaken, they can refile a notice of appearance. Please be advised that the Court's Case Management Report form is different from those used by other judges. Local Rule 3.05(c)(2)(E), M.D. Fla., explains that most track two cases, like the present case, "will be tried within one year after the filing of the complaint." To accomplish this goal, the Court believes that six to eight months is a sufficient period of time to conduct discovery. If the parties believe that more time than eight months will be needed to complete discovery, the parties should provide the Court with a detailed explanation as to why additional time is needed and a timeline for the discovery that is planned.
