Date Filed Document Text
May 5, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 18 ORDER appointing Andrew C. Eckhoff as mediator in this action. The mediation conference is scheduled for September 13, 2022, at 9:00 AM. The Court directs that all counsel, parties, corporate representatives, and any other required claims professionals shall be present at the mediation conference with full authority to negotiate a settlement. The Court does not allow mediation by telephone or video conference. Personal attendance is required. Signed by Judge Virginia M. Hernandez Covington on 5/5/2022. (SGM)
May 5, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 17 ENDORSED ORDER: The parties have filed an amended notice of mediation (Doc. #16) unilaterally changing the date of the scheduled mediation. But as the Court stated in its earlier mediation order, "[n]ow that the mediation has been scheduled, the parties may not unilaterally reschedule the mediation conference -- a motion must be filed, and leave of Court obtained, if they seek to reschedule the mediation." (Doc. #15 at 2). However, in the interest of judicial efficiency, the Court will construe the amended notice as an unopposed motion to reschedule mediation and will grant the motion. The Court reminds the parties that they may not unilaterally reschedule the mediation conference again without leave. The Court also takes this opportunity to remind the parties that, absent a showing of exigent circumstances and leave from the Court, personal attendance is required at the mediation conference. Signed by Judge Virginia M. Hernandez Covington on 5/5/2022. (SGM)

March 10, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 11 ENDORSED ORDER: In light of the Court's Case Management and Scheduling Order (Doc. #10), no case management hearing will be held. Additionally, in order to keep cases moving on track, the Court has found it necessary to impose some restrictions on the types and number of extensions to case management deadlines that it grants. Thus, the parties are advised that, while short extensions, especially if unopposed, will be favorably considered, the Court will not substantially move the dispositive motions deadline or the trial date. Signed by Judge Virginia M. Hernandez Covington on 3/10/2022. (MEJ)
