Filing 3
ENDORSED ORDER: Plaintiff, a Florida prisoner, initiated this action by filing #1 a civil-rights complaint and #2 a motion to proceed in forma pauperis. Plaintiff's complaint is difficult to understand, but he appears to challenge various conditions at the Manatee County Jail. Plaintiff also seeks to collaterally attack [1-1] his state-court convictions. These two sets of claims cannot be pursued in a single action. See Hutcherson v. Riley, 468 F.3d 750, 754 (11th Cir. 2006). Accordingly, the Clerk is directed to CLOSE this case. If Plaintiff intends to challenge his convictions, he must file a 28 U.S.C. 2254 petition in a new case. If Plaintiff wishes to challenge conditions at the Manatee County Jail, he must initiate a separate action by filing a civil-rights complaint under 42 U.S.C. 1983. Signed by Judge William F. Jung on 10/28/2025. (MWC)
