Filing 21
ENDORSED ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE: On June 25, Plaintiff was notified that the Court would hold an IDEAL Case Management Conference on July 8 (Doc. 16), but Plaintiff failed to appear at the July 8 Conference. Plaintiff is thus ORDERED to file a response on the docket, on or before July 17, 2026, explaining why she did not attend the hearing, and stating whether she wishes to proceed with this case. (If she does not, she should speak to Defendants about her options under Rule 41 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.) Additionally, Defendant Simmons was served on May 18 (Doc. 9) and failed to timely respond to the complaint, but Plaintiff did not move for entry of Clerk's default within 28 days of Simmons' failure to respond, as required by Local Rule 1.10. For these reasons, if Plaintiff does not file a response to this order on or before July 17, 2026, I will likely recommend that this case be dismissed for failure to prosecute, pursuant to Local Rule 3.10 and/or Federal Rule 41. Plaintiff is encouraged to consult the Court's guide to proceeding without a lawyer (https://www.flmd.uscourts.gov/sites/flmd/files/documents/flmd-guide-for-proceeding-without-a-lawyer.pdf). To the extent Plaintiff seeks translation assistance, she is encouraged to contact Bay Area Legal Services, who may be able to provide Spanish-language assistance (https://bals.org/spanish). Signed by Magistrate Judge Natalie Hirt Adams on 7/8/2026. (NBM)
